How many times have you walked past something and didn't know it was there? How many times have you put your car keys down and forgotten just where they were? Or even, recall what you had for your last meal? Wonder how many times the lizard in the first picture was missed because someone walked right by him? Our lives today are so busy and we are so intent on getting the next thing done that we don't even realize that we are shown miracles and blessings every day from God, according to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS of BRINGING BACK GOD, BRISTOL, TN and BRINGING BACK GOD, MARIETTA, PA. We need to slow down so that we can hear the Word of God and see the blessing and miracles that he gives us on a daily basis. When a disaster strikes, and we narrowly miss getting touched by a flood or a tornado, that is a miracle that we should give thanks for. When you have been on medication to treat a health condition for a long time and then no longer need that medication, that is a blessing that we need to give thanks for. We have become a people who walk around with blinders on, not seeing what is right in front of us that God has provided.
Jesus taught his disciples through parables. They too had difficulty seeing what was plainly in front of them. John 4:35 says "Say not ye, ‘There are yet four months and then cometh the harvest’? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest.(KJV)" Jesus was speaking to them of the salvation of souls, that they should not be worrying or concerned about what they were going to eat or what they were going wear, or where they were going to have shelter. It was more important for them to recognized that there were people right in front of them that were willing to hear the Word of the Lord. That is very much like today. We are so concerned about getting it all done, or putting in the time at work to be paid so that ends can meet, that we forget the basic idea that God provides everything you need. PASTOR JOHN says He knows what you need before you need it! And because he provides everything you need, all he wants in return is your soul. Jesus died on the Cross for our salvation. It's time to find Him and seek forgiveness and repent and stop being blind to what's around us.
